Hana Flat Iron Review

Hello ladies,

I was sent a flat iron by Misikko for review. The packaging came so cute and I almost didn't wanna take it out from the box ;).  Anyway, this flat iron is by Hana and you can check out the product here: Hana Professional Flat Iron.

Hana Professional Flat Iron

I just wanna keep this review quite simple. All I can say is that I love, love, love it!. Although it's only 1", Hana flat iron does wonder to my hair.

Hair Before:

Towel dried, unruly hair. Well, I think most of you know I have curly/wavy hair. I normally flat iron my hair, and if I got tired of flat ironing my hair, I would treat my hair with either Japanese Rebonding or a Brazilian Blow out.

Hair After:

Silky smooth, straight hair!

I was using a new eyeliner, and that would be in my next blog post;)

My Hana Flat Iron Review:

Q: How long did it take to heat up the iron?:

I let it stand for 2 minutes before I began using it.

Q: Does it come with a dial-button adjustable heat?:

Yes, it does. Adjustable Heat 140-450° F.  I used 400°F for my hair type.

Q: How long did it take to flat iron my hair?

15 minutes because my hair is super long, thick and curly/wavy.

Q: How did it feel when I was done with the whole process?

My hair was super smooth, straight and it stayed straight for 2 days.

Q: So how would I rate this flat iron?
5 stars! I am very picky when it comes to hair styling tool, and I personally think this is one of the best.

Misikko also was nice enough to send me a sample of Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant serum that also can be used as a leave in conditioner. More info can be found HERE. I love the serum because it's not greasy and it makes my hair smooth and shiny. I highly recommend it. It's quite pricey though, but a little goes a long way. Protecting your hair from heat damage is super important and if you don't have any heat tamer product, I suggest you get one. There are many brands that are available at Target or any beauty supple.

I guess that's all for now. Thank you for reading this post!

Samy Fat Foam Permanent Hair Color in Light Golden Brown

I finally re-colored my hair. Yay! It was about time anyway. My hair was dull and dark, and I couldn't stand looking at the root so I went to WalMart last Sunday and got myself a Samy Fat Foam.
Why Samy, and not L'Oreal or Revlon ( Note: I always use these 2 brands only) ?
Well, I wanted to try this new brand since I have heard a lot of positive feedback from several friends of mine. Besides, trying a new thing is always exciting! :)

The Packaging:

...and do you want to know what it says on the back of the box?
Revolutionary Permanent Foam Color Technology From the Foam Color Experts! New Foam Technology. No-Mistake Hand Application.

 What's Inside:

Bottle (it looks like a shake bottle!), Base Solution, Color Powder, Gloves, Instruction, Shampoo & Conditioner.

Color Guide:

My hair was Medium Brown to Dark Brown.

Result from Samy Fat Foam in Light Golden Brown:

Well, I wish the color was a tad lighter, of course. I guess it could only happen if I bleached my hair first, but I don't dare to strip my own hair. It has to be done at a professional salon. :)

Well, for a DIY Hair Color, I think it's not bad at all. The application was easy, and not messy. All I did was mix the base and the powder into the bottle, and shake it for 30 seconds. When I opened the bottle, the white foam was overflowing! It was pretty to look at actually. So I just applied the foam all over my hair, and left it for 30 minutes for the color to develop. 30 L.O.N.G minutes and I hated the smell of the ammonium sulfate! Then when the time was up, I washed and rinsed with their shampoo and conditioner which smell pretty good by the way. The result is the picture above.

Will I buy Samy Fat Foam again? Maybe. Because it is so easy to apply! No mess, no drip. However, the not so good thing is that they do not have a wide selection of colors. I wanted a bronzey-honey like color, but unfortunately they don't have that. They only have a basic selection of black, dark or light brown, and dark or light blonde colors. Well, at least I tried you know. I still prefer L'Oreal because the brand carries all kind of colors, for all kind of skin tones.

Dear Samy, if you read this, please take a note that girls love colors! Just saying!

Party Hair - Hair Of The Day

Hi Everyone!

I am sure most of you are excited to go out tonight and celebrate the countdown of the New Year 2011. I can't wait to hit the town! I hope Hollywood boulevard is not that bad this year because I hate drunk drivers and obnoxious people!!
Anyway, I just finished doing my hair, and I would like to share the result and the products I used.

Products Used:

Teasing Comb, Paddle Brush, CHI Helmet Head Extra Firm  Hair Spray, Redken Heat Styling Thermo Actif, T3 Hair Plumper, and BaByliss Pro Professional Porcelain Ceramic Curling Iron (Picture Courtesy Folica.com because my curling iron is still hot right now-cant take a pciture, sorry :))

Review:

CHI Helmet Head Extra Firm - This product is very lightweight and have a nice scent! It does not leave greasy residue and wont weigh down your hair. Great product for someone who wants her hair to stay firm all night long, especially for club goers! No messiness even after you dance for hours. It's a must have product.  I have a stick straight hair that is hard to style after I had the Japanese Hair Straightening treatment. This CHI hair spray allows me to style my hair the way I want to. I give this 9/10 stars!

Redken Heat Styling Thermo Actif - If you like to use a curling iron but the curls don't stay longer than an hour, then you need this product! Use this product before you curl your hair. Just spray and curl. :) I love this stuff so much because my curls stay for hours even if I run my fingers through my hair! I can say that it stays all night till the next morning. Again, my hair is hard to curl after the Japanese Hair Treatment, and this little Redken works great on my stubborn hair! 9/10 stars!

T3 Hair Plumper - T3 is one awesome product. I love it's blowdryer which I will do a special review soon. This one helps lifting the hair roots - that if you desire to have a pouf like Snookie. :) I also did one, but a small pouf just for tonight celebration! :)  I love this little thing!! 8/10 stars!

BaByliss  Professional Porcelain Ceramic Curling Iron - It does a great job at curling my hair but I am sure there's something better out there. I love my Hot Tools better, but too much of that can ruin my hair tremendously. I hate split ends!

So that's it. I hope everyone is having a great New Year's eve!

and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011, everyone!

XOXO,
♥♥ Rinz

Stocking Stuffers gift - T3 Featherweight Hair Dryer

My BF and I have agreed to give each other little tokens, once a week in the month of December until Christmas eve. However, I got my first gift today!! I was surprise to see a paper bag sitting next to my stocking when I got home this evening. I thought it was too early, but whatever :) So when I opened the bag, it was the T3 Featherweight Hair Dryer!! OMG, I can't believe it. I've been using a regular blow dyer from Target which is not too bad, but with my long and thick hair, it can take forever to dry. I never complaint about it though, but I guess my BF just had it with me taking so long to get ready. He's been hinting about it since we're always late to parties or dinners with families. He blamed it on my dryer LOL. Oh well. Now I am under pressure to get him something nice and thoughtful as well. Maybe a good electric shaver? :)

Well ladies, and I cant wait to read some posts about stocking stuffers from all of you soon. :) Oh, I will do a review on this dryer next week ;)

XOXO

I cut my hair (kinda short) and I regret it!!!

What was I thinking? My hair was long and thick and suddenly I thought about cutting my hair slightly shorter. I actually wanted a long layered style. Well, like most girls always say, if you ask for a long layered, most likely the hair stylist/dresser will chop half of your hair off! Well, she did indeed!! :`(. I asked her not to touch the lowest part of my pair so its length won't change at all and to just trim and layer the top part only, but, oh well, she touched it! I cant do anything about it. I just had to accept it, even though I didn't like it. While she was cutting my hair, I kept on asking her, "are you touching the lowest part?", and she kept on saying no. I was like hmmmm.....kinda like I wanted to tell her to stop, but at the same time I felt bad. So when it's done, I realized my hair was way shorter than what I wanted.

I showed it to my bf and he was unhappy about it. He said girls need to have a long thick hair because that's what make them girlie, feminine, bla bla bla. Well, I admit that long hair makes me feel pretty, and short hair makes me feel grumpy. Long hair makes me want to dress up and put make up on, but shorter hair makes me feel lazy. LOL. It is just me though. I know some girls can rock short hair styles. Well, at the end, it is up to an individual..really. :) I loved my long hair. I wish I didn't get the hair cut today. =/

Anyways, below is a picture of my new short haircut (to me)  and yeah it is still straight because of the Japanese Straightening (similar to Brazilian Blow Out). And an hour later, I put on my hair extensions LOL, just because........ and no, I didn't style it. Just wanted to compare between a long hair and a short hair. :)

Oh another thing, I am back on taking this Hair Vitamin called Hair ReVive. I bought it online from VitaCost about 3-4 months ago. It helps my hair grow faster! Yeah, my hair takes forever to grow!

Update on my Hair. 7 Months after Japanese Hair Straightening

If you have read this post: Japenese Hair Rebonding/Straightening, then you know what I am talking about. :) Well, my hair is pretty much straight since I had it treated back in April this year. YAY!  Except the roots of course (sigh) but that part I can always straighten it with a flat iron! :) And yes I am still using the Brazilian Blow Out shampoo and conditioner.

Here is my hair picture. It's kinda long now.:) And yes, I just colored it in dark brown since it's officially autumn! :) Los Angeles is getting cooler and I love it!

Sorry for the bad lighting, but here is the close-up picture, taken with a bathroom light and no flash. :) My new hair color.

Product used:

L' Oreal Paris Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color in Dark Brown.

I really like this product. It literally took about 10 minutes or less for the color to develop. So basically I spent about 10 minutes coloring and waiting, and another 10 minutes to wash my hair thoroughly. Total time spent: 20 minutes! :) This is so not the traditional hair color product because you don't have to wait for 45 minutes, or an hour. This product works fast! Less than 10 minutes my hair was brown and my hair is quite long and thick!

FYI, this product smells so nice and has no ammonia  (YAY because I hate the smell of ammonia) and it has Royal Jelly which gives natural vitamins to your hair. Vitamins infused hair coloring product is a must since the hair normally gets dry afterwards. And with nourishing crème colorant, the color does not drip on the floor, or on your body, or even on your ears, which is a plus!!! Because who's going to clean up if you are busy coloring your hair? Right? And if it stays longer, it will stain the skin, the carpet, the floor, etc. We don't want that. Also, I read on the box that it lasts through 28 shampoos, which I dont mind since I like changing my hair color often. :)

Anyways, I am very glad that I saw this product at Target yesterday. With 2 bottles, I got to color my hair and my extensions. ;) And it cost about $9.99 per pack/bottle.

My verdict? I will definitely repurchase!! I highly recommend this one!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Another good hair day for me!

I love having a long hair because I feel more feminine that way. LOL. Once in my life, I tried a “ Victoria Beckham” short hair style and I didn’t like it at all. I felt like a boy LOL, instead of  “Posh”. I guess because I didn’t know what to do with a short hair!! So after that incident, I told myself I would never, ever cut my hair that short, ever again.

Anyway, this is me using Foxy Locks Extension that I bought not too long ago. Wearing hair extensions can be pain in the “you know what” since it requires a lot of steps just to get that pretty, bouncy hair! But with lots of practice, I can say that I am so used to it now that it just doesn’t bother me any longer. :) In this picture, I only put 3 clips of hair extensions (look how thick it is!) and I took me about 10 minutes (attached, combed, curled). I am not sure if I could compare this brand to any brand in LA. I did try the Euronext brand from Sally Beauty , but it didn’t give me the same thickness or volume like Foxy Locks does. So thumbs up for Foxy Locks!

So here is the result of Foxylocksextensions!

I bought Foxylocksextension about a month ago, from UK company after doing some extensive research on good hair extensions =)

It came in a pink package (how cute) ! and yeah the color did not match my hair because the one i wanted was totally sold out. I bought a chestnut instead since I can just dye it with whatever color i wanted later.

So I colored it reddish brown to match my hair.
Looks scary LOL

And here it is (pic below) !! It matches my hair color and beautifully blends in!! I love how it feels - soft, and natural. It does not feel heavy or cause me any head ache and It was a LOTTTT of hair!! I normally get a headache from having something sit on my head for hours. LOL. But I didn't. Anyways, I wore it for a wedding event last Saturday (lots of girls stared at me :) and i know it was 'the hair' LOL) and I left it on for one more day, which was yestersday, just to test it out. So I went out shopping and met up with some friends that I haven’t seen in a year. The first thing they said, “wow your hair looks healthy and beautiful!”. LOL. I was actually amazed because it was still securely clipped to my hair – and those tight curls had turned into a nice -beachy wave which I personally like.  :)

Thank you Imogen for this product. I normally don’t do international shopping but Foxylocksextensions is really worth it =)

Disclaimer (due to FCC): This is my personal opinion. I am not paid to write this review. I am not affiliated with Foxylocksextensions. I bought the product with my own money after i did some extensive research on good hair extensions.

Brazilian Blowout Acai Anti - Frizz Shampoo.

So i got this product (cost $37.32 with tax) because i just did Japanese Thermal Reconditioning, and I really need a super good shampoo that keeps my hair smooth, straight and shiny. Well, this guy at Beauty Essentials, Sherman Oaks said that this Brazilian Blowout is the aftercare product made for the Brazilian Boa Hair Straightening/Keratin Treatment/Blow Out. He said I could use it for my hair too. Good deal, grabbed and paid. I bought the shampoo only though, the Acai Anti - Frizz since I still have my Redken Smooth Down conditioner that i bought 2 days earlier. Anyways, just like the Japanese Hair Straightening/Thermal Reconditioning, the Brazilian Keratin Treatment / Blow Out leaves hair straight, healthy and shiny; however only only up to 3 months. Japanese Thermal up to a year or until you chop your hair off! Except the roots, that will be curly of course. I think the cost is pretty much the same. I never tried Brazilian Keratin Hair treatment, but if the Brazilian Butt Lift is the most wanted procedure, I am sure their other stuff is also good too? Haha. But last up to 12 weeks?? I think I will be spending more money on Brazilian Blow Out!
My Verdict on the Brazilian Blow Out Acai Shampoo: Worth every penny. I dont  think i could go back using the drugstore shampoos and conditioners. Haha. Simply because i am scared they will ruin my hair. =/ Too much cheap chemical. This luxurious shampoo makes my hair happy ahahaha =)  It has no sulfate, which is a plus. Well, I used to change brands so often since I didnt like most of the products I tried, but that because I had thick, curly/wavy and hard to manage hair. Anyways, this Brazilian Blowout product leaves my hair ultra smooth, extremely shiny with no frizz just like the brand's statement on the bottle. Oh yeah, here is their website, http://www.brazilianblowout.com/
