Hana Flat Iron Review

Hello ladies,

I was sent a flat iron by Misikko for review. The packaging came so cute and I almost didn't wanna take it out from the box ;).  Anyway, this flat iron is by Hana and you can check out the product here: Hana Professional Flat Iron.

Hana Professional Flat Iron

I just wanna keep this review quite simple. All I can say is that I love, love, love it!. Although it's only 1", Hana flat iron does wonder to my hair.

Hair Before:

Towel dried, unruly hair. Well, I think most of you know I have curly/wavy hair. I normally flat iron my hair, and if I got tired of flat ironing my hair, I would treat my hair with either Japanese Rebonding or a Brazilian Blow out.

Hair After:

Silky smooth, straight hair!

I was using a new eyeliner, and that would be in my next blog post;)

My Hana Flat Iron Review:

Q: How long did it take to heat up the iron?:

I let it stand for 2 minutes before I began using it.

Q: Does it come with a dial-button adjustable heat?:

Yes, it does. Adjustable Heat 140-450° F.  I used 400°F for my hair type.

Q: How long did it take to flat iron my hair?

15 minutes because my hair is super long, thick and curly/wavy.

Q: How did it feel when I was done with the whole process?

My hair was super smooth, straight and it stayed straight for 2 days.

Q: So how would I rate this flat iron?
5 stars! I am very picky when it comes to hair styling tool, and I personally think this is one of the best.

Misikko also was nice enough to send me a sample of Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant serum that also can be used as a leave in conditioner. More info can be found HERE. I love the serum because it's not greasy and it makes my hair smooth and shiny. I highly recommend it. It's quite pricey though, but a little goes a long way. Protecting your hair from heat damage is super important and if you don't have any heat tamer product, I suggest you get one. There are many brands that are available at Target or any beauty supple.

I guess that's all for now. Thank you for reading this post!

Review: Kelo-cote Advanced Formula Scar Gel

Hello Beautiful Ladies!

I was picked to review Kelo-cote Advanced Formula Scar Gel by Kelo-cote company. I received these two products from them:

 Advanced Formula Scar Gel

Advanced Formula Scar Therapy Spray

I am actually quite excited when I received the products in the mail because I have always wanted to try new things that could help with scars especially acne scars. I had some marks/scars from past acne problem and like most girls, I am quite conscious about it even though it is not that bad. Of course, I did acutane treatment, and that helped get rid of acne, but unfortunately I am left with scars. Yikes! So when I received these Kelo-cote Advanced Formula Scar Therapy, I had to try it right away to see if they would actually work.

What Advanced Formula Scar Gel/Spray Therapy claims:

Kelo-cote is the only patented, transparent, self-drying, flexible, gas permeable, waterproof Silicone Gel Sheet which improves the appearance of scars and prevents abnormal or excessive scar formation. When used as directed, Kelo-cote has been shown to flatten, soften and smooth scars, relieve the itching and discomfort of scars, as well as reduce the discoloration association with scars. Kelo-cote is effective for both old and new scars, and in the prevention of excessive and abnormal scar formation.

Intended use: For the management of old and new scars, including Hypertrophic and Keloid scars, resulting from surgical procedures, trauma, wounds and burns.

My Review:

After using the Advanced Formula Scar Gel consistently day and night for 2 weeks, I can see an improvement on my acne scars. I am quite please to see that the bumps (hypertrophic scars) on my skin have slightly flatten/reduced. Acne scar is my biggest issue you know, and I am sure everyone dislike them. So far, this product hasn't caused any zits on my face. I also use the products (Both Scar Gel and Spray Therapy) on a scar that I got from a car accident and I can seriously say that the scar looks better now! The products have helped reduce the scar discoloration and it looks way smoother than before. I will continue using these products and hopefully I will see more improvements! :)

If you have scars and would like to use something inexpensive to help reduce the appearance of those scars, I suggest to give Kelo-cote Advanced Formula Scar Therapy or Gel a try. To find out more about these products, please visit: http://skincarerx.com/kelo-cote.html

Disclaimer: I was sent these products to review, and my opinion are 100% honest.

Darkness Lashes Pictures and Review

I've finally got a chance to try this brand. Yay!  I loves wearing lashes and I normally buy either MAC or Ardell because they are so easy to get and that's all I was used to. I have heard a lot of great things about Darkness lashes, or Asian brands eyelashes in general,  but I never really bothered to buy any since they are so hard to get. So technically, Darkness is my first Asian brand lashes. I bought it from a beauty store called Palace Beauty in Korea Town Galleria, Los Angeles not too long ago.

Darkness K.Ma 9 lash:

I love the style and the flirty look of the lashes I picked. Darkness K.ma 9 is not super dramatic (the kind of lashes I like) so it is suitable to be worn during the day. I love them! I actually thought I didn't need any eye makeup because the lashes are so pretty that they already enhanced my eyes. Ha!Ha!

What I think about this brand?
Well, Darkness carries many styles by the way, from the simplest one to the most dramatic ones. The price is not that expensive. It is quite affordable actually. I paid $4.50 per box and it comes with 2 pairs of lashes. This K.ma9 style is adorable. I love the criss-cross and the spiky look which I think is super cute! They are great for pictures by the way. The best thing is that the lashes are not as soft and flimsy like most lashes so they will last for a while if you take good care of them. Unfortunately, since the band is harder than the usual American brand lashes, I had a hard time putting these lashes on. Maybe that's because I was used to those flimsy and softer band/lashes. Also throughout the day, I can feel these lashes on my lid, but it's okay because there's always a price for beauty! And with lots of practice, I will get used to putting these lashes on. :) Overall, I still recommend this brand since the lashes are great, super cute and beautiful. Your eyes will stand out that's for sure.

If you know any other Asian brand lashes that you would like to share, please let me know! I'd love to try other brands!

My August 2011 BirchBox

I am sure most of you Birchbox subscribers have received your August Box. Well, here is mine...

August 2011 Birchbox:

Hmmm....What futuristic beauty product do you wish existed?

I think I have found it. I just want a home light therapy system so I don't have to go back and forth to my Dermatologist. It can be quite expensive you know. So I am thinking of ordering Baby Quasar for anti aging and acne. I just hope it is worth the price! PS: I am linking the website so you guys know what I am talking about! My light therapy session at my dermatologist office cost about $150 for 15 minutes!

Then I unwrapped that purple paper ........Guess what's inside? Some aftershave cream and Smashbox Primer. :-/

So what's inside August Box?

1. JUNE JACOBS - Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque 3.7 fl oz for $62
Powered by natural fruit extracts, this creamy mask dissolves dull cells, then boosts skin with essential oils and antioxidant-rich tea extracts.
~I think this one is alright. Papaya scrub is always good though~

2. OUIDAD - Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel 6 oz for $16
A styling aid with brains! When this non-sticky gel senses heat, it stops hair from expanding. Welcome to frizz-free curls.
~ I don't have curls like that, but I don't mind to give it a try~

3. SHAVEWORK - The Cool Fix  2fl ox for $11 & 5.3 fl ox for $25
At last, a solution to bumps, ingrown, and other shaving and waxing side effects. Bonus: it soothes as it works.
~I have yet to try this. Maybe right after my next wax session~

4. SMASHBOX COSMETICS - Photo Finish Foundation Primer 1fl oz for $36
This award-winning primer is better than ever, with brand-new packaging. It gives skin a matte, velvet-soft finish and keeps makeup in place all day.
~ I can get this at Sephora~

EXTRA twistband - Hair Tie.
This soft elastic gives the hair tie sophisticated makeover - it looks as good on your wrist as it does in your hair.
~Hmmm...really??~

Now, what do I think of August box?

First of all, I do not like the hair tie like I didn't like the Snack inside my July box. I don't eat snack or tie my hair. Oh well. July was my first Birchbox by the way and I subscribed because I saw some girls received Laura Geller's blush in their June's Box. At the same time, I also read that UK girls who subscribed to Glossy Box received NARS Multiple!! That got me excited! So I thought it would be great to try new makeup since Sephora only offers foundation samples and not a blush, or an eyeshadows or even a lipstick. Of course just like everyone else, I went ahead and subscribed! I've been waiting for that magic moment to happen you know..where I would scream out loud out of excitement, but so far it hasn't happened. ;)

I know that Birchbox main's purpose is to introduce new beauty brands and educate the consumers on skincare/makeup since the consumers can easily get overwhelmed with beauty products at Sephora (this was taken from the article I read about the company), but seriously, I am a major Sephora addict and no, I don't get overwhelmed at all. The Sephora website provides a very clear information about each brand and the products. Besides that, in order to become a member of Beauty Insider, I had to fill out some questionnaires just like I did with Birchbox website and voila, the system spit out some products suggestions. How simple is that? So I don't really get the real concept of Birchbox other than their informative website and samples that are not even customized to skincare/makeup need. Maybe some months they get good samples, some months they don't? Who knows.... I will give it a try for another month and if it stills doesn't excite me, I will just discontinue my subscription. Why? Because if I want to get some skincare samples, I can easily get them from Beauty Collection or Sephora. Just ask the Sales Assistants and they will be happy to provide you some samples. But again, that's just me though.

Are you are a Birchbox lover? If so, what do you think of August samples?

SOLIA FLAT IRON REVIEW. PS: I am loving my hair ;)

Hi Lovelies!

I am sure most of you have read about my shopping haul that I posted last week and how excited I was to get a great flat iron at a discounted price. For those who don't know what I am talking about, you can click HERE. :)

So, yes, this one is it! I think it is far better than my Original CHI flat iron. Look what it does to my hair? :)

Straight, sleek and shiny!!! I love, love, love it! My hair is smooth, silky, shiny and straight to the max! It stays straight up to 3 days! Yes, I have tried it.

So why do I have an obsession with great looking hair that I am almost OCD about it?

Well, I have this love-hate relationship with my original hair...the hair that I was born with. I don't really like wavy/curly hair at all because it tends to get frizzy and messy. I don't mind cute spiral curls or romantic soft waves created with curling irons, but not the kind of curls you see in the picture below. My hair was a bit damp when I took this picture by the way, and seriously, I think the hair looks messy. FYI, all my sisters have great looking thick straight hair. My youngest sister, however, has an obsession with spiral curls that she has to get her hair digitally permed every year. She obviously likes to look like a doll. I don't blame her. It is super cute. Unlike her, I prefer straight hair and I will do whatever it takes to get my hair perfectly straight even if I have to spend tons of money on Japanese Rebonding/Straightening or Brazilian Blowout! Yep, I am obsessed. :) You can tell by reading this one particular post: My Flat Iron Collection.

My Opinion On Solia Flat Iron:

Well, let's see its specification first:

The Solia 1¼" flat iron features the Dynamic Alignment System to ensure perfect contact between your hair and the plates. It supplies even heat distribution for true silky straight hair. Its ceramic/tourmaline ion technology will generate gentle far-infrared heat and extra negative ions to create the perfectly frizz-free hair without heat damage.

  • Variable temperature settings, 170°F-400°F (actually up to 450°F)
  • All hair lengths and textures
  • 2-year warranty

I love the ON/OFF switch as well the the variable temperature setting. The heat goes up to 450°F which  I think is perfect since my hair is thick and curly. It smooths out every frizz, and with one or two glides, the curl is gone! It takes about 15 minutes to do my whole hair.

So overall, I am very satisfied with this Solia flat iron. I love the quality and its performance, and of course I love the price too! :) I bought it on sale and I am very happy that I did not spend over a hundred dollar for a great flat iron. In my opinion, this is far better than my Original CHI that I bought for $155. Don't get me wrong, I really loved my CHI flat iron because that iron served me well. It lasted 7 years before it broke. Original CHI was among the first flat irons that entered US Market so I can't complaint about it. It's just the technology has gotten better so I am looking for something better. :)

So, where did I buy this Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion flat iron from?

FOLICA.com. I bought it for $79.99 from its original price, and if you are planning to buy any brand of flat iron or even a curling iron from FOLICA.com, they have this code for an additional $10 off. So use it! :) They also give you free shipping and handling on any order above $50. This SOLIA was my first purchase from FOLICA.com and I had no complaint on the shipping and customer service. The shipping was super fast and the customer service was excellent. For instance, I sent them an email asking for an additional discount because I didn't know about their additional discount code and they had no problem with it! They credited my account. :) So yes, I will shop for more in the future if they keep on making their customers happy.

That's all for today. Happy Thursday everyone!

MAC Fluidline Gel Liner vs. Sephora Waterproof Smokey Cream Liner.

I love wearing eyeliner, and I have been wearing it since my early teenage years. Most of my eyeliners are pencils but, I prefer to use a gel liner when I want that dramatic intense look.

Gel and pencils eyeliners are so different so for someone who loves eyeliners, she has to try everything there is in the market. I have MAC Fluidline (which of course every girl I know has it), and Sephora gel liner that I bought not too long ago and quite frankly I don't see any difference at all. I have been using MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack for years and I just want to give another brand a shot you know. I thought this Sephora brand would be a great replacement.Of course it's cheaper too.

And just so you know, I went from Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black Ink ($21) to MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($15) to Sephora Waterproof Smokey Cream Liner in Must Have ($10). Am I downgrading? Not really. I just love trying different brands. At the end of the day, if I liked something, I'd keep it! Just like a relationship. :)

MAC Fluidline Blacktrack (left) and Sephora Must Have (right)

What I look for in a gel liner:
  • Silky/Soft Finish
  • Water Resistant
  • Long Wearing
  • Does not smear
  • Smudge-Proof
  • Matte Black
  • Intense Color
  • Not overpriced! And not cheap either!

Based on my experience, MAC Fluidline and Sephora Waterproof Smokey Cream Liner (wow long name!) are about the same except the "smudge-proof" part. MAC IS smudge-proof while Sephora is not. With $5 more, you can get that with MAC. However, Sephora gel liner is so long wearing that it stays on my eyelid from 8 a.m until 12 midnight. I am happy with both even though Sephora is NOT smudge-proof. But hey, as long as I don't rub my eyes with my fingers, that eyeliner will still be there until I remove it. But if you are the type that rub your eyes constantly or want some kind of assurance, I suggest you get MAC Fluidline. :)

Well, this is me wearing Sephora Cream Liner in Must Have. I took this picture for my InstaGram album about 2 days ago? I didn't wear anything else except Sephora Must Have.

PS:- If you have an InstaGram app., add me up! :) User Name: msRinz

So MAC Fluidline or Sephora Cream Liner?
Well, the choice is yours darling!
I don't really care as long as it stays!

My Flat Irons Collection and Review on CHI, TS Titan, ISO, Remington and MAXIGlide

From Left to Right: CHI, TS Titan, ISO International Turbo Silk, Remington Wet to Dry, MAXIUS Maxiglide, Maxiglide Mini

I think most of my readers know that I don't like my curly, wavy hair. I really don't know what to do with those curls. It is hard to tame and it gets frizzy fast. Besides, as an Asian girl, I prefer a silky, smooth and super straight hair because that's the "ideal beauty" according to by my mother, grandmother, great grandmother and society. I was brain-washed. ;) Due to my obsession with straight hair, I bought all kind of hair products and beauty tools. I also have had Brazilian Blowout and Japanese Rebonding which can be super expensive. I can only do that kind of treatment once a year since it can be pretty damaging to your hair. Flat irons can cost between $50 to $300, depending on a brand, plate material, plate size, and temperature. I have a thick hair so I need a flat iron that has a temperature between 380° - 410°.  I have bought a lot of flat irons that do not work well with my type of hair, and I feel like I wasted a lot of money.  Some of them I have already trashed, and I have only these (see above picture) left. I hope this review will help some of you.

 Reviews:

ORIGINAL CHI by Farouk:

By far the best flat iron I have used. It lasted for about 7 years, can you imagine that?! I bought it in 2002 and it just died on my last year. The temperature is about 356 degrees fahrenheit, and it has a swivel cord. The plate is ceramic, which won't damage your hair. The price is $99 and up, depending on the stores. I really need a replacement for this, so I have checked around and found that Apothica is having a sale for $69.00. Check out their sales items, up to 70% off and a free shipping for purchase over $49.00. They also have Stila, The Balm, M.D. Formulation, Laura Geller, Clinique, Clarins, Murad, Napoleon Perdis, Vincent Logo, Essie, all on sales. Here is the print screen of CHI flat irons:

TS Titan Mini Flat Iron:

Why do I need a mini flat iron? Well, I used to have full bangs and I needed something small that can help styling and smoothing out my bangs the way I wanted to. This little thing did a wonderful job! It's still working just fine.

ISO International Turbo Silk:

I bought this flat iron at the mall to replace my CHI. It worked well for a month or so. It gave me the straightest hair and it heated up fast. Now, it takes forever to heat up, and won't smooth the freeze and curls as much. It just gives me a nice wavy hair.  It was a waste of money really. The sales person "gave" me the discount of 50% and I paid $99 for the iron. I felt the pressure because she said "the sale is only today. The original price is $199". Ha!Ha! I fell for it! Especially after she did a demonstration. By the way, if you do a research online, you will find that this brand does not cost over $99. Oh well.

Remington Wet to Dry:

I like the idea to skip the blow dryer all together in my hair routine, but seriously after a while, my hair looked damage. It works yes, but I will only do it when I really don't have time to spend on my hair. Don't ever use this kind of flat iron on everyday basis.

MAXIUS Maxiglide:

I don't know how to even begin. I was fooled by a great infomercial. There! This flat iron is supposedly helping to tame the frizz and keep the hair smooth and straight for days! MAXIUS's selling points are: innovative ceramic detangling pins detangle, smooth and straighten hair all in one steps; and its patented steamburst technology penetrate the hair's cortex which hydrate and condition the hair especially dry ends. So what you do is filling up the steamburst pod with water and while you flat iron your hair, you just press the steamburst button to let the steam comes out. Sounds good, eh? Well, it doesn't work for me. First, the detangling pin doesn't detangle my hair and the plate is not ceramic. Maybe it was coated with ceramic, but the whole thing inside is metal. I broke one of the plates and that's how I found out. Also, it burnt my hair. The steamburst technology? Nah. Doesn't work. I spent $109.95 for the whole kit which includes that Maxiglide Mini. Money "worth spent". So after this incident, I don't pay attention to any infomercial anymore.

MAXIUS Miniglide:

Forget it. It comes FREE with the MAXIUS Maxiglide kit, and doesn't even straighten my hair, even an inch! That's how bad it is.

Well that's it. Quite a rant. :)
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Samy Fat Foam Permanent Hair Color in Light Golden Brown

I finally re-colored my hair. Yay! It was about time anyway. My hair was dull and dark, and I couldn't stand looking at the root so I went to WalMart last Sunday and got myself a Samy Fat Foam.
Why Samy, and not L'Oreal or Revlon ( Note: I always use these 2 brands only) ?
Well, I wanted to try this new brand since I have heard a lot of positive feedback from several friends of mine. Besides, trying a new thing is always exciting! :)

The Packaging:

...and do you want to know what it says on the back of the box?
Revolutionary Permanent Foam Color Technology From the Foam Color Experts! New Foam Technology. No-Mistake Hand Application.

 What's Inside:

Bottle (it looks like a shake bottle!), Base Solution, Color Powder, Gloves, Instruction, Shampoo & Conditioner.

Color Guide:

My hair was Medium Brown to Dark Brown.

Result from Samy Fat Foam in Light Golden Brown:

Well, I wish the color was a tad lighter, of course. I guess it could only happen if I bleached my hair first, but I don't dare to strip my own hair. It has to be done at a professional salon. :)

Well, for a DIY Hair Color, I think it's not bad at all. The application was easy, and not messy. All I did was mix the base and the powder into the bottle, and shake it for 30 seconds. When I opened the bottle, the white foam was overflowing! It was pretty to look at actually. So I just applied the foam all over my hair, and left it for 30 minutes for the color to develop. 30 L.O.N.G minutes and I hated the smell of the ammonium sulfate! Then when the time was up, I washed and rinsed with their shampoo and conditioner which smell pretty good by the way. The result is the picture above.

Will I buy Samy Fat Foam again? Maybe. Because it is so easy to apply! No mess, no drip. However, the not so good thing is that they do not have a wide selection of colors. I wanted a bronzey-honey like color, but unfortunately they don't have that. They only have a basic selection of black, dark or light brown, and dark or light blonde colors. Well, at least I tried you know. I still prefer L'Oreal because the brand carries all kind of colors, for all kind of skin tones.

Dear Samy, if you read this, please take a note that girls love colors! Just saying!

MAC False Lashes Review and Photos!

Alright ladies, I have finally gave this MAC Mascara a try! I was sticking to my YSL "Faux Cils"
for so long, and I refused to try any other brand; however, the name "false lashes" drew me to this mascara. I am not sure if any of you have tried this product by MAC, but I am going to share my experience. First of all, this mascara is huge. LOL. I don't really like the shape, and how it looks. I don't know..it's not as "smooth" as other mascaras, but hey, it's not that important as long as the product is great. Right? Like I mentioned earlier, I bought this mascara because of these 2 words: "False Lashes". So I thought to myself, maybe it would work wonder.. just like YSL, only with a better price.

So, hmmmmm...I am quite disappointed to tell you the truth. Well check out the pictures below, and you my lovelies..be the judge! Sorry, the lighting is bad, but you can still see the lashes. :)

MAC FALSE LASHES
I am not liking the packaging much.

Without mascara: My lashes are short!

Bad lighting at the club. Sorry, but you can still see the lashes! With 3 applications.

My Favorite Mascara, ever! YSL Faux Cils.

My conclusion: I should never buy a mascara based on its name! ;) Well, at least I tried MAC False Lashes.

Maybelline Fit? Not so fit!

Maybelline Fit

Well, I have heard, and read lots of mixed reviews about this latest product from Maybelline. I refused to listen to bad stuff, so I went ahead and bought one for myself.
Since I have used and tried many concealers and foundations from department stores, and Sephora, I was a bit skeptical about drugstore foundations. THAT, I have to admit. Why? Because it has always been so hard for me to get a good match. It's either too light or too dark. Unfortunately. Besides that, the color is either too pinkish, or too orange. =/
Well, this Maybelline Fit's promises sound good to be true. I guess it works for most girls, but not for me. The reasons are:

  • It's too greasy for my skin. A bit runny, and does not provide good coverage. Or maybe I read it wrong? Is it supposed to be a tinted mosturizer kind of foundation? hmmmm.....
  • The color matched good at the beginning, but turned ashy on me. =/
  • It doesn't stay longer than an hour, max!
  • I need to layer with lots of powder foundation which defeats the purpose of having a foundation to begin with. A foundation on a foundation is gross! Too thick. I don't really like it, unless I do a party makeup.
  • It gives me red bumps and zits, especially on the T-zone area. Yikes!
Oh well. I just wish that these problems did not occur, you know. I don't want to have a bad skin, so I have to put this away. I think this formula is great for those who do not have a sensitive skin.

Well, there goes my review on Maybelline Fit foundation. Have you guys tried it? And is it working for you? Do tell!!

How Do You Wear An Eyeliner?

Hello Ladies,

Happy Sunday! I finally got some break from school. I got way too much work this week and I don't think I'll get to celebrate the Valentine's Day the way I would want it. I can't escape to anywhere special since work and school have officially taken over my life!

Well, enough of that. I am actually getting ready to go somewhere, so I might as well post this image!
I am sure everyone has her own style in lining their gorgeous eyes. :) This is my style and I am using NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Pearlized Black, and Sonia Kashuk Demi Lash Set (Half Lashes). I normally "wing it" at the end to get that slight cat-eye look.

Review: NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Pearlized Black

Well, I find this one is quite different than the old packaging. Old style was horrible. It was messy and runny. This is supposed to be an improved version of the old one, which has met my expectation. The price is less than $5; I am pretty sure it is around $2.50 or $3, but I can't remember. :) The price is great and the staying power is even greater. YAY. This time, the liquid runs smooth, not runny and very black! I am very picky when it comes to eyeliner. It has nothing to do with prices and brands. Mostly about staying power, the intensity of the color and its consistency. Those 3 are what I am looking for in an eyeliner. If the product has all that, then I am good. :) NYC Liquid Eyeliner is now my go to product. You guys should try it!

Review: Sonia Kashuk Demi Lash Set with Glue

First of all, the glue that comes with the lashes can't replace my Duo Eyelash Adhesive that I have been using for the past 5 years! Yes, it does a descent job at keeping the false lash sticks to my lid/lashes, and it does keep my false lashes on for at least 4-5 hours ( I guess because I have oily lids?). But, I want the whole day to night kinda glue, and Duo is great for that.  I'd say this is my "after hour" glue since it's so tiny, and you can just throw it into your makeup bag and apply the lash after work right before you hit the bar with the girls. :)

Now the lashes are great. It might not be "natural" like Ardell / MAC lashes, but it's not too bad at all. They don't feel heavy on the lid and don't look plastic at all. I am actually quite happy with this brand. A little bit expensive that Ardell or Andrea. I paid about $5.50 at Target. Overall, I am satisfied with the product. The casing is very convenient. The best part is that you can use this lashes again and again and again since it's not made from natural hair. :)

Nails Of The Day: NYX Jungle and Review

Hello lovelies!!

Happy Saturday!!! I hope you guys are having enjoyable weekend so far. Today, I just changed my nail polish to a new color that I just bought. I really wanted a rich emerald color and I thought this NYX was almost close to it. Almost. However, it looks more blue, than green. Teal? =/ A bit dissapointed, but it's ok. I will still be looking for that emerald color. I saw one from Chanel in the magazine, but I forgot its name. Maybe Sephora by OPI has one? Anyone knows?? Here is the list. If you guys know some brand out there that has pure emerald color, please comment below. Anyways, NYX nail polist does not dissapoint me at all. Even though it's cheap ( paid about $4.50), the color comes out opaque, clean, and smooth. The brush is not flimsy at all. SO YAY for NYX Nail polish. I think I am going to buy more colors from this brand.

Anyways, here are the pictures of NYX Jungle.

Review: T3 Featherweight Blow Dryer

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday first of all!! :) I am sure some of you are getting ready right now for a Friday Night Out! Well, I am going out too, but before I step out, I would like to share my opinion about this amazing blow dryer. I received it as a gift from my B.F during last Christmas. This little thing is very impressive that I have to blog about it.

What it is:
A professional, Tourmaline-infused hair dryer that delivers lightning-fast drying and a lightweight body.

What it does:

The Featherweight works differently from old-school dryers. It uses SoftAire™ technology to produce a large, perfectly balanced cone of uniform ionic and infrared heat that dries large sections of hair evenly. Simply put, drying larger areas at a time means faster drying—60% faster in fact. Plus, this fast, even drying means no-over drying, which leaves hair smooth, shiny, and silky soft.

Patented T3® Tourmaline technology infuses the 'electric stone' deep into the dryer's components. Tourmaline emits ions and infrared heat to deliver frizz-free, healthy styling by sealing in moisture and reducing static electricity, polishing any style to lustrous perfection. Weighing in at less than a small bottle of water, the dryer's state-of-the-art components are lightweight and quiet for effortless styling.

My Review:

Well, I am glad that I got this blow dryer as a gift, since it is quite expensive to buy. Retail price is $200. But then again, maybe I would, only after I had a chance to try it out first.
First of all, this thing is so light that it does not hurt my wrist at all if I hold it for more than 5 minute. The regular hair dryer (I am talking about the $20 hair dryer that I dont even know the name!) that I bought from Target is heavy and is quite annoying to handle.

With T3 Featherweight Blow Dryer:

- I have a thick hair; this blow dryer dries my hair under 5 minutes, max!

- The heat is not super hot, which is a plus, or otherwise you will burn your face and scalp!

- The air blows gently and concentrated that I don't look crazy while drying my hair. LOL.

- I find it easier to use round brush with this hair dryer.

- It minimizes and reduces flyaways. My hair is very smooth every time I use it. Silky straight if I use a paddle brush or a round brush. NO FRIZZ!

- It gives shines to my hair. Seriously, my hair is so healthy now. After I cut my hair a little, and starting to use this blow dryer, I don't notice any split ends. It's been a month now and I use it everyday. Yay! I always had split ends in the past from frequent use of hair styling tools, especially from a blow dryer.

- The best part is when I flip-out my hair and style it a little; the style will stay until I wash my hair later at night. I don't have to use any hair spray.

With A Regular Hair Dryer:

- It takes me up to 10 minutes to dry my hair using the highest setting.

- The heat is unbearable at times and it makes me sweat. Yikes. So I normally use the lowest setting, and it takes forever to dry my hair.

- I look like a crazy woman everytime I dry my hair. LOL. My hair goes everywhere even with the help of a round brush since the air stream is not concentrated. I believe it has something to do with the fan inside the blow dryer.

- It sometimes creates flyaways; therefore, I have to tame it down with hair serum or gel.

- My hair gets split ends easily from frequent use. No shine, coarse and unhealthy.

Ok, that's it! I just wish this blow dryer was not that expensive, you know? *Sigh*

MAC purchase and Makeup Look for NYE

I bought these few items from MAC just for NYE celebration. :) I love every single product and I give 10/10 on each of them.

From left to right: Smolder eyeliner, Lipgelee in Bubble Lounge, Eyeshadow in Knight Divine and Special Reserve Highlight Powder in Chez Chez Lamé.

Review:

Special Reserve Highlight Powder in Chez Chez Lamé from Cham Pale collection:
This highlight powder gave me the sheen and the glow that I wanted. YAY! I used it as a highlight for my cheeks and forehead (see picture below). The best thing is that this product does not have glitter in it. It's not that I don't like glitter; I just wasn't looking to be glittery for the night. Even for my dress, I opted a black bandage type kind of dress. :). And yes, most girls in the club were wearing glittery shadows, and sequin dresses. It's new year's eve after all!

Lipgelee in Bubble Lounge from Cham Pale collection:
I am amazed that I never tried a lipgelee product before! This is better than a lipglass in my opinion because it doesn't feel sticky at all. :) A+! Bubble Lounge is somewhat pinkish+bronze with metallic finish. It also has shimmer in it. Well, I am sure it's quite popular because it is already sold out on Maccosmetics.com, and I was lucky to find it at a local store. Will definitely repurchase!

The rest of the products:

MAC Smolder eye liner: It is a must have for those who love the blackest black eyeliner.

MAC Knight Divine eye shadow: The color is so pretty. It's a gunmetal color with veluxe pearl finish. For my FOTD below, I used it as all over color and Carbon on the outer corner.

Well, I hope everyone had a great NYE celebration. :) I sure did. Will post some pictures later. :)
And oh, I also would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope this 2011 will bring much happiness and success to all of you ladies. XOXO.
