Darkness Lashes Pictures and Review

I've finally got a chance to try this brand. Yay!  I loves wearing lashes and I normally buy either MAC or Ardell because they are so easy to get and that's all I was used to. I have heard a lot of great things about Darkness lashes, or Asian brands eyelashes in general,  but I never really bothered to buy any since they are so hard to get. So technically, Darkness is my first Asian brand lashes. I bought it from a beauty store called Palace Beauty in Korea Town Galleria, Los Angeles not too long ago.

Darkness K.Ma 9 lash:

I love the style and the flirty look of the lashes I picked. Darkness K.ma 9 is not super dramatic (the kind of lashes I like) so it is suitable to be worn during the day. I love them! I actually thought I didn't need any eye makeup because the lashes are so pretty that they already enhanced my eyes. Ha!Ha!

What I think about this brand?
Well, Darkness carries many styles by the way, from the simplest one to the most dramatic ones. The price is not that expensive. It is quite affordable actually. I paid $4.50 per box and it comes with 2 pairs of lashes. This K.ma9 style is adorable. I love the criss-cross and the spiky look which I think is super cute! They are great for pictures by the way. The best thing is that the lashes are not as soft and flimsy like most lashes so they will last for a while if you take good care of them. Unfortunately, since the band is harder than the usual American brand lashes, I had a hard time putting these lashes on. Maybe that's because I was used to those flimsy and softer band/lashes. Also throughout the day, I can feel these lashes on my lid, but it's okay because there's always a price for beauty! And with lots of practice, I will get used to putting these lashes on. :) Overall, I still recommend this brand since the lashes are great, super cute and beautiful. Your eyes will stand out that's for sure.

If you know any other Asian brand lashes that you would like to share, please let me know! I'd love to try other brands!

Random: Pictures from People Magazine - Kim's wedding

I took these pictures for you bloggers - I know some of you are Kim Kardashian's fans. :) Sorry, pictures are a bit dark. I blamed my iPhone for that ;) Hopefully someone will scan the magazine later. In a meantime, enjoy the pictures!

Some of the guests..I don't know most of them except Ryan Seacrest and Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewife.

Overall, I like her makeup look. Very light. She did not have that thick foundation or heavy smokey eye makeup which is good. A wedding is the day where every woman should look like herself, only 1000000 times better - in my opinion. I read from somewhere that she copied Catherine Windsor's makeup look. Who cares really because from the pictures, she looks 5 years younger and fresh! That's all that matters. It makes me think that "less is more". ;) But still, I wont throw away my Smolder eye liner or Black Tied eyeshadow hahaha! But I think towards the end of the night, when she changed dresses, she added more eye makeup. Well, that's it from the magazine.

Have a great Friday everyone!

My first purchase - Jewelmint. (Pictures Heavy)

My Jewelmint package finally arrived yesterday. Yay! This is my first Jewelmint piece by the way. I signed up about 2 months ago, but I never really wanted to buy anything until I saw this pretty necklace on a model who had a short dress on, the kind that I would normally wear. That's it. That's what got me. The presentation of the necklace.

The Packaging:

Oh, let me show you the result of the quiz I took:

It's somewhat true. The right dresses with the right accessories ARE so important to me.

Well, here is the piece I bought.

Here to Eternity Set:

I really love the wording!

And this is how it looks on me!

I love, love, love this necklace! Super cute!

So, am I satisfied with the purchase? Let me just put it this way. With only $29.99 per piece, it's not bad at all. I have no complaint. The quality is way better than those accessories sold at H&M, Forever 21, Wet Seals, Bebe or Arden B. Of course Jewelmint pieces are not made of gold or silver like Tifanny's so don't expect a high end quality. For fashion accessory, I'd say this is among the best I've seen. Unique design and high quality.

And for those who don't know what Jewelmint is, let me just explain a bit...
Jewelmint is like a jewelry club founded by Kate Bosworth and stylist Cher Coulter. The designs are unique and you won't find them anywhere else. Well, I hope not! :)
The membership fee is only $29.99 per month. That will get you one piece of jewelry. Shipping and handling included. The most important thing is that you are not obligated to get something from your showroom every month.  If you don't like anything, simply skip that month (before 5th of every month) so your credit card won't be charged. Simple!
If you want to know more, I suggest you visit its official website at http://www.jewelmint.com/

I will be doing some OOTD with this piece soon!

Disclaimer: I bought this piece with my own money and am not affiliated with the company. My opinion is honest, as always.

Have a great Friday everyone!

I heart Japanese and Korean Beauty Products (Random Pictures)

I just want to share some pictures from my trip to Palace Beauty, a beauty store that sells Korean and Japanese beauty products. The minute I walked into the store, I immediately fell in love. They have tons of stuff. Some are expensive, and some are not. I don't think they have a website, but I found this on Yelp! http://www.yelp.com/biz/palace-beauty-los-angeles.

So here are the pictures....

Dolly Wink Cosmetics by Tsubasa Masuwaka

Oh my god, these stuff are so cute! But I got one item only, for now. =P I will post a picture tomorrow.

Korean and Japanese Brands Face Mask.

I bought about 12 packets of masks! They had some sales going on when I was there so I had to get some. :)

Darkness Lashes

These stuff are awesome, that's all I can say. They might not be $15 per piece like MAC, but these lashes have beauty and quality. And most models in ViVi magazine have dolly like criss-cross spiky lashes on them. So not everything is about MAC or Ardell you know ;) We got to try other stuff too. :) And oh, I spent about an hour looking through each of these Darkness Lashes. It was so hard to choose since the store carries all styles. Just so you know, the store has about 3 display cabinets of Darkness Lashes. :) It's lashes heaven!

Last but not least, I finally got my hands on this stuff!! It was sold out everywhere and I was lucky to have found it at Macy's at Glendale Galleria. There were only 3 left so I immediately grabbed one, paid for it, and walked out of the store with a huge smile on my face! It's funny how makeup can make me the happiest girl alive! Ha!Ha!

Naked by Urban Decay.

So that's it. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend as well.

My August 2011 BirchBox

I am sure most of you Birchbox subscribers have received your August Box. Well, here is mine...

August 2011 Birchbox:

Hmmm....What futuristic beauty product do you wish existed?

I think I have found it. I just want a home light therapy system so I don't have to go back and forth to my Dermatologist. It can be quite expensive you know. So I am thinking of ordering Baby Quasar for anti aging and acne. I just hope it is worth the price! PS: I am linking the website so you guys know what I am talking about! My light therapy session at my dermatologist office cost about $150 for 15 minutes!

Then I unwrapped that purple paper ........Guess what's inside? Some aftershave cream and Smashbox Primer. :-/

So what's inside August Box?

1. JUNE JACOBS - Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque 3.7 fl oz for $62
Powered by natural fruit extracts, this creamy mask dissolves dull cells, then boosts skin with essential oils and antioxidant-rich tea extracts.
~I think this one is alright. Papaya scrub is always good though~

2. OUIDAD - Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel 6 oz for $16
A styling aid with brains! When this non-sticky gel senses heat, it stops hair from expanding. Welcome to frizz-free curls.
~ I don't have curls like that, but I don't mind to give it a try~

3. SHAVEWORK - The Cool Fix  2fl ox for $11 & 5.3 fl ox for $25
At last, a solution to bumps, ingrown, and other shaving and waxing side effects. Bonus: it soothes as it works.
~I have yet to try this. Maybe right after my next wax session~

4. SMASHBOX COSMETICS - Photo Finish Foundation Primer 1fl oz for $36
This award-winning primer is better than ever, with brand-new packaging. It gives skin a matte, velvet-soft finish and keeps makeup in place all day.
~ I can get this at Sephora~

EXTRA twistband - Hair Tie.
This soft elastic gives the hair tie sophisticated makeover - it looks as good on your wrist as it does in your hair.
~Hmmm...really??~

Now, what do I think of August box?

First of all, I do not like the hair tie like I didn't like the Snack inside my July box. I don't eat snack or tie my hair. Oh well. July was my first Birchbox by the way and I subscribed because I saw some girls received Laura Geller's blush in their June's Box. At the same time, I also read that UK girls who subscribed to Glossy Box received NARS Multiple!! That got me excited! So I thought it would be great to try new makeup since Sephora only offers foundation samples and not a blush, or an eyeshadows or even a lipstick. Of course just like everyone else, I went ahead and subscribed! I've been waiting for that magic moment to happen you know..where I would scream out loud out of excitement, but so far it hasn't happened. ;)

I know that Birchbox main's purpose is to introduce new beauty brands and educate the consumers on skincare/makeup since the consumers can easily get overwhelmed with beauty products at Sephora (this was taken from the article I read about the company), but seriously, I am a major Sephora addict and no, I don't get overwhelmed at all. The Sephora website provides a very clear information about each brand and the products. Besides that, in order to become a member of Beauty Insider, I had to fill out some questionnaires just like I did with Birchbox website and voila, the system spit out some products suggestions. How simple is that? So I don't really get the real concept of Birchbox other than their informative website and samples that are not even customized to skincare/makeup need. Maybe some months they get good samples, some months they don't? Who knows.... I will give it a try for another month and if it stills doesn't excite me, I will just discontinue my subscription. Why? Because if I want to get some skincare samples, I can easily get them from Beauty Collection or Sephora. Just ask the Sales Assistants and they will be happy to provide you some samples. But again, that's just me though.

Are you are a Birchbox lover? If so, what do you think of August samples?

Circle Lenses Review - Adore Bi-Grey and Neo Cosmo Queen Honey

I was sent these two color contact lenses by KoreaBigEyes.com for review.

 First Lense: ADORE Bi-Grey

The cute pyramid packaging:

What's inside the box:

This is how Adore Bi-Grey look actually:

And this is me wearing Adore Bi-Grey:
PS: I just changed my hair color again. Just the top part actually.. to achieve more of an ombre style, and I let the tip remains light ashy brown. ^_^

What I think of Adore Bi-Grey lenses?

They actually look pretty natural in real life. My boyfriend can't really tell unless he gets close enough and stares into my eyes. At least that's what he said.  However in the picture, I can see my natural eye color popping through due to camera flash. Sorry, I had to use a flash since my place doesn't have a good lighting especially at night, but next time, I'll do a FOTD during a bright sunny day. :) Overall, I really love the color. Very pretty! This is my first grey color contact lenses by the way, and I am falling in love.. :). The lenses are soft and do not irritate my eyes. I had them on for 3 hours only just because I haven't worn contact lenses for such a long time. And to be honest, the last time I wore color contact lenses was one and a half year ago!

Additional Information on Adore:

Adore color contact lenses are a distinctive collection of cosmetic contact lenses that is the outcome of a never ending quest for excellence and perfection. Crafted with an exquisite artistic touch for the discriminating taste, Adore lenses are designed for those in pursuit of stunning eye-color change while enjoying long lasting comfort.

The packaging:

PS: Excuse my natural hair!

What I think of Neo Cosmo 4 Tone Queen Honey:

I think the color matches my skin tone, and I really love how natural they look. :) I had them on for 2 hours and they did not cause any irritation. The lenses last at least a year so that's good. I can keep on wearing them till they expire. By the way, I think these are circle lenses but they don't look big on me since my eyes are pretty much big already! I guess I need super circle lenses to make my big brown eyes appear bigger. ;)

Overall, I love both contact lenses. The blends are so natural and i don't think I look weird in them :) So thumbs up! I know I'll be getting more circle lenses in the near future especially the Neo Dali Brown.
